Music Production & Sound Engineering Work
In addition to my design projects, I am a practicing sound engineer and musician. Currently, I am the in-house sound engineer and livestream technician at Kerrytown Concert House, where I am responsible for live sound reinforcement and recording for world-class jazz, and classical chamber musicians. I have also done recording, mixing, and mastering for a variety of collaborators while at University of Michigan’s Duderstadt Audio studios. A playlist of my sound engineering work can be found below.
Othercast - Cult of the Circle Dance (Album)
In my personal time, I produce independent electronica music under the name “Othercast”, often in the format of narrative conceptual albums, though more recently as live electronic performance. This project allows me the opportunity to dive deep into every nuance of the production (composition, sound design, mixing, mastering, visual art, narrative-writing, and distribution) and offers the exciting challenge of seeing large-scale artistic projects through from concept to completion. I find that my experience as a musician (my well-trained ear, and user perspective of audio technology) often feeds into my technical work and vice-versa. My discography is available here.
